Villagers Stopped Hume Pipe Culvert Construction in Demand of Pucca Culvert at Banarhat

Webdesk, TNI Dhupguri, 06th September, 2017: Villagers of Banarhat’s Sukantapally today stopped the makeshift Culvert construction work done by a Hume Pipe demanding Pucca Culvert in the place. The locals informed that the Hume pipe culvert has become a curse of the place with lots of garbage chocking the Hume pipe culvert. The local panchayat was just replacing the old hume pipe with a new one. This was not taken well by the villagers and they stopped the work in protest. On the other hand, the Panchayat Pradhan Mr. Dhan Bahadur Chettri said that the work was started by the recommendation of the local part member but since the villagers are protesting, so a new estimate will be made for making it a pucca culvert.
